We are in our last week of the season and it’s our final Thursday night training session for our 1st XI team who are going into Day 2 of the RMS Grand Final. With a big day ahead of them, it only takes a few early wickets with the lads still well and truly in the game. If any team can get the job done, it’s our 1’s as they’ve proven at times throughout the season.
Our 2nd XI played off in the DMS Grand Final over the weekend and were able to put the game in the balance on Day 2, but unfortunately after the tea break the opposition were able to chase down the runs and finish the game.
We should be very proud as a club to have two Senior teams represent us in BHRDCA Shield Grand Finals across RMS & DMS grades. We have done very well to get our 1st XI playing in back to back GFs and also to get our 2nd XI to hold their spot in the top 4 and manage to also get through to the big game. Well done to all involved.
I would also like to thank the team on the Committee that have worked hard over the last few weekends giving up their time to support the club across finals weekends and also as we host the RMS Grand Final. There is a lot of work and commitment needed to ensure we get everything right and the last few weeks have gone very well for us. Thankyou to all who have helped out in various ways, I really do appreciate your dedication to the club.
Being our last training session for the season we encourage everyone to get up to the club this evening to support the lads and enjoy the final Thursday night dinner. Maddi & Mia have been outstanding all season with putting on great selections of meals each week, please make the effort to get along tonight and thank the ladies for their hard work they have given us.
Whilst our focus is all about this Saturday in the final day of the RMS Grand Final, we will finish off with a bang on Sunday with the Major Raffle and ‘Day on the Green’ event. There are a few tickets remaining, make sure you have yours to be part of what will be a great day of celebration and winding down after a long season. We’ll have live music on stage by local rock artist Stacey Perryman, the Bigger Than Texas BBQ truck will provide the gourmet lunch, a full bar set up and the inaugural Vermont Invitational Nearest to the Pin Golf Challenge. And of course, we will run the major reverse draw raffle with the last 3 tickets remaining eligible to win the big cash prizes. See attached updated poster for details.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the club for our final evening of the season tonight. The footy will be on the big screens and be sure to get to the club by 1pm this Saturday to support our 1st XI team.
Bar open from 5.30pm, everyone welcome.
