An outstanding finish in the final home & away match for our 1st XI that saw a huge win and resulting in the team finishing 2 games clear on top of the RMS ladder and securing a home Semi Final against our rivals Heatherdale across this Saturday & Sunday.
Our 2nd XI fought a good battle but couldn’t quite get the win, but thankfully with enough points and another match going our way, we have 2’s also featuring in a Semi Final at Highfield Park against Wycliff this weekend.
We knew it was the last game for our 3rd & 4th XI last week, well done to all and in particular the two team Captains for dealing with player shortages, ground conditions and many other challenges throughout the season. Time to relax now guys and get along to support our teams in finals.
Our U18’s are also featuring in Finals tonight & tomorrow night at St. Andrews. A great finish for the season that saw the return of our U18’s back into the competition.
To have two teams represented in Shield finals along with a young emerging U18’s team who are our future is a huge effort, well done to all involved on & off the field to get this far, let’s all get around the teams and support hard & respectfully over the weekend. It doesn’t matter where each team has finished on the ladder, it’s all even playing now so let’s seize the opportunity and bring home big wins this weekend.
SUBS: Thanks to those very few who paid their Subs this week, but unfortunately there’s still too many outstanding. The home & away season is finished and we’re entering finals, we shouldn’t have to be bringing this up week after week because of the those who still refuse to sort out their subs with the club. The list is up on the board in the rooms that highlights those unpaid players, hopefully everyone checks it out to see who is letting their teammates and club down. As I say each week, come and speak to me, Biss or Tim Storey if you need us to assist with your Subs.
The weekly raffle is on again with the meat tray courtesy of Vermont South Gourmet Meats, along with a $50.00 voucher for The Wantirna Hill Club. Another feature raffle prize will be a free ticket to the VCC Major Raffle Day which is on 26th March. Tickets to the Major Raffle are selling fast and we expect to have all tickets sold very soon, and there will not be any more available even on the day, so be sure not to miss out and importantly support the club for what is our major event of the year. (See attached updated poster)
Maddi & Mia are back tonight and will be serving up Charcoal Chicken, Chips & Salad for dinner after training. They are both doing an outstanding job with our meals on Thursdays and again on Saturday’s for player afternoon teas. Thankyou Ladies.
A massive night of finals selections, supporters make sure you get along to be part of our finals campaign from tonight, we’ll have Day 1 of the Test Match on the big screen and of course the bar will be open from 5.30pm, everyone welcome.
Go Eagles
