At VCC Tonight- Thursday 2nd March
2 Mar 2023 by Trent Touhy
We’re halfway through the last round of the Home & Away season with a good opportunity to bring home some wins and have both our Shield teams feature in finals.
The 1st XI all contributed well with the bat and put on a solid score last week that will have us defending 327 this week against 2nd placed Box Hill North Super Kings. Hopefully the lads get the job done with the ball and a win will see VCC finish in top spot on the RMS ladder.
The 2nd XI posted a respectable overnight score of 222 and have a big day this week defending that score to secure a finals spot. Results of other matches in the DMS grade will also have an affect on where the 2s may finish, but get the win and the finals are on.
SUBS: After this week, we will publish and highlight the list of those who have not paid their Subs, which being this far into the season is not good enough and disappointing particularly from those Senior players who have played most games. We shouldn’t have to be chasing week after week, and for those who are seemingly refusing to pay their require Subscriptions or won’t make arrangements are letting your club and your teammates down.
The weekly raffle is on with the meat tray courtesy of Vermont South Gourmet Meats, along with a $50.00 voucher for The Wantirna Hill Club. Our feature raffle prize will be a free ticket to the VCC Major Raffle Day which is on 26th March. Speaking of which, tickets are selling fast, and we expect to have all tickets sold in the next couple of weeks so be sure not to miss out and importantly support the club for what is our major event of the year.
Maddi & Mia have the night off tonight so for dinner after training we will be supporting Vermont Pizzeria who are one of our key sponsors and will put on a feast of their finest gourmet pizzas. It’s just $10 for pizza & drink tonight, great value and nice to be able to support our sponsor and good local business.
Bar open from 5.30pm, everyone welcome.
