At VCC Tonight- Thursday 9th February

What a great fight with bat last Saturday in the 1st XI clash against Forest Hill after being set a big target of 347. A great performance and disciplined batting brought home the win that still has us sitting on top of the RMS ladder. The 2nd XI were agonisingly close taking the game into the last over of the day falling just 2 runs short. No doubt the overnight rain had an impact and with the grass unable to be mowed it resulted in a much slower field compared to the week before giving quite a disadvantage, but end of the day the target was not reached. Still, the 2nd XI are proving to be a major challenger in the DMS grade and with more numbers returning this week we will see this side bolstered up even more. The 3rd XI had a washout in day 2 due to the pitch at Terrara Park under water, and the 4th XI had some great individual performances but couldn’t quite get the job done. The U18’s unfortunately were also washed out. Just two rounds to go with some big matches ahead to secure finals spots in our two Shield grades, and pressure is on to get or retain spots in these two sides as we are almost back in full strength with player numbers.

SUBS: We will be publishing a list of all paid up players this week, and we are still seeing far too many players yet to pay or arrange payment of Subs. Please get this sorted if you are yet to finalise your playing subs for this season.

The raffles are back with the big meat tray courtesy of Vermont South Gourmet Meats, along with a $50.00 voucher from our new sponsor The Wantirna Hill Club. We are thrilled to have the WHC on board as a key sponsor from this season and beyond and we look forward to partnering over a long term.

Dinner is on tonight after training, and as always we expect everyone to stick around and support the club and your teammates. Maddi & Mia have launched a rocket through a drifting balloon and found a secret recipe for Asian fried rice, beef, broccoli, salad and fried Gyozas.

A nice warm night to get to the club for drink too. Bar open from 5.30pm, everyone welcome.

Go Eagles
